Allspice is the dried unripe fruit of the tree Pimenta dioica. Rich in antioxidents, Allspice supports immune health, aids in digestion and has anti-inflammatory properties. In addition it also assists in keeping the hair and skin vibrant and strong, which makes this ingredient a super star in our treats.
Used in our horse treats. Apple flavor means the essential oil, essence or extractive, distillate, or any product of roasting or heating, which contains the flavoring constituents derived from the apple.
Applesauce is a puree made from apples. Rich in vitamin C and fiber as well as being low fat. In addition applesauce is packed with anti-oxidents which makes for a great ingredient in our low fat horse treat.
Arnica Montana (Organic)
Arnica Montana is a daisy like European flowering plant that is used to help repair and fade bruising of skin. It also has anti-inflammatroy properties to relieve muscle soreness. Arnica can be applied to the skin for pain and swelling associated with bruises, aches, and sprains. It is also applied to the skin for insect bites, arthritis, muscle pain, chapped lips, and acne.
Barley flour is a flour prepared from dried and ground barley. It is low in cholesterol and high in fiber and provides a range of important vitamins and minerals including fiber, selenium, B vitamins, copper, chromium, phosphorus, magnesium, niacin. Compared to many other whole grains, barley is lower in fat and calories, but higher in dietary fiber and certain trace minerals.
Blue German Chamomile
Blue German Chamomile Oil is known to penetrate deep into the layers of your skin and offer properties that are anti-inflammatory and can restore and soothe irritated skin. Known to be used in formulations that are designed to improve skin conditions. It is the oil you would turn to if you wanted to help specific conditions such as eczema and dermatitis.
Borage Seed Oil (Borago Officianalis Seed Oil)
It seems the magic potion in borage seed oil is a fatty acid called gamma linolenic acid (GLA), a strong anti-inflammatory found in certain plant oils. Borage seed oil types as an acting emollient and is best known for its ability to soften, soothe, and re-condition the skin. Borage is a plant. Its flowers and leaves, as well as the oil from its seeds are used as medicine. Borage seed oil is used for skin disorders including eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and neurodermatitis.
Burdock root has a high amino acid profile and is high in minerals.It is naturally antiseptic and is known as the ultimate tissue cleanser. It is a very useful to help promote healing skin and tissue, helping the tissues remove any excess toxins, making it ideal for use in chronic inflammatory or infective disorders. Due to its detoxing nature, it is important that burdock should be used alongside an herb such as nettle that help with the removal of these toxins from the system. Burdock is an excellent digestive aid and has also been used in the treatment of arthritis, blood disorders, liver and kidney function or toxic conditions which result in skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, sores, boils or dry scurfy skin.

Camphor is beneficial with properties that are anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, cooling, and is thought to be slightly stimulating to blood circulation. Derived from a species of tree in the Orient that resembles the Evergreen tree.
Carrageenan is a substance that is extracted from red and purple seaweed plants. Used as a natural stabilizer and emulsifier and is water soluable.
The Castor Oil plant is a species of perennial flowering plant in the spurge family, Euphorbiaceae. Castor oil is a traditional folk medicine that has stood the test of time and has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties which can protect your skin against infection. Because of this, castor oil is found in many skin care products; it also acts as a carrier making for easier skin absorption of nutrients and is high in Vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and Omega 6 and 9 beneficial fatty acids to moisturize and sooth hair and skin.
Cedarwood Essential Oil
Cedarwood essential oil is extracted through the process of steam distillation from the wood pieces of the cedar wood tree. It is anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antiseptic. Cedarwood oil can help stimulate the hair follicles by increasing circulation to the scalp to promote hair growth.
Cetearyl Alcohol is an ingredient made from a mixture of fatty alcohols which are found in plants. Cetearyl Alcohol is mostly found in beauty products and is often misinterpreted as an “alcohol” ingredient, which can be extremely drying to the hair. However, is quite the opposite, as cetyl alcohol is well known to effectively condition and soften the skin and hair. Works as an emollient, emulsifier, thickener and carrying agent for other ingredients contained in a cosmetic solution and leaves hair smooth.
A fatty alcohol used as an emollient, emulsifier, thickener, and carrying agent for other ingredients.Our Cetyl alcohol is from palm and coconut oils and is not an irritant and is not related to SD alcohol or ethyl alcohol. The term alcohol here is a real disservice to this ingredient as it is really a fat substance and has moisturizing properties.
Chamomile flowers are anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, analgesic and a natural relaxant. The flowers are high in calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium and manganese and help to regulate the parasympathetic nervous system as well as aid in digestion. Chamomile is often used to treat allergic reactions, both externally and internally with its anti-inflammatory properties, and is naturally calming and promotes a healthy digestive tract. (If you show your horse, please be informed if your discipline of choice allows chamomile, as it is used in some calming agents that are not allowed)
Cheddar cheese is made from cow's milk and is a reletively hard natural cheese and contains a high concentration of essential nutrients, in particular high quality protein and calcium, which are great for your health.
Chia seeds are obtained from a perrenial plant and are considered a superfood. Chia seeds are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, iron, and calcium and they are full of protein. These little seeds ground up offer great benefit for skin and hair from the inside out.
Cinnamon is obtained from the inner bark of a tree species from the genus Cinnamomum. It has benefits that include anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antidiabetic and anti-microbial.

Cocamidopropyl betaine is an organic plant based compound derived from coconut oil that is found in a many “natural” or “organic” skin care and hair care products. It is a medium strength surfactant and is also used as a foam booster in shampoo. It is also used to help reduce irritation that purely ionic surfactants would cause.
Coconut oil is extracted from the meat of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm. The antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties are superior health benefits. As a bonus, coconut oil improves any skin and coat and hair, improves digestion, and reduces allergic reactions.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a fat-soluble, vitamin-like compound produced naturally by our bodies. Found in nearly every cell in the body. CoQ10 levels decrease as you get older. The lack of CoQ10 results in an impeded ability to produce collagen and elastin. Collagen is important because it makes your skin firm, while elastin gives your skin flexibility. Dandelion Leaf is high in vitamins A, B, C, and D, and rich in potassium, sodium, calcium and other minerals, dandelion functions as tonic by stimulating liver function, bile production, and kidney function. It helps the body clear itself of toxins and is believed to purify the blood. It’s a strong botanical ally when used in rehabilitation or conditioning mixes, especially for horses that undergo the stress of competition. The Dandelion leaves are known as a natural electrolyte and aids in flushing the system of toxins that may contribute to inflammation which makes it ideal for allergies.
Decyl glucoside is a natural glucose plant-based non-ionic surfactant commonly used in skin care products. It retains moisture in skin and is environmentally friendly.
Water that has had most of its mineral ions removed, such as cations like sodium, calcium, iron, and copper, and anions such as chloride and sulfate. Also known as demineralized water, and is extremely purified in the production of cosmetic products and in that sense, slightly better.
Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate
Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate is a disodium salt and acts as a cleansing agent and boosts foaming. It is very gentle to skin and is not a sulfate. Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate will cleanse the hair,however,will not strip the moisture from hair the way harsh sulfates do.
This is a natural and gentle preservative derived from glycerin and used in various skin, hair, and body care formulations.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Eucalyptus radiata opens airways and supports respiratory system and is antibacterial, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and is highly antiviral. It is also beneficial for arthritis and other aches and pains due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
Fenugreek seeds are very nourishing containing vitanims A, B, C and vitamin E. These seeds function to strengthen the respiratory system, the mucus membranes, and the sinus in cases of upper respiratory infection, sinus issues, or congestion. The seed is anti-inflammatory and promotes conditioning of body, hair coat and hooves. It is very pallatable and helps with picky eaters. Being that Fenugreek is a uterine stimulant it should not be used on pregnant mares, however, after foaling will help with milk production. (There is a small amount in the dosage of our herb blend and have not had any problem feeding it to our mare with allergies while she's pregnant)
Flax is a blue-flowering herbaceous plant that is cultivated for its seed (linseed) for food. Flax is packed with nutrients and full of omega-3 fatty acids that are great for heart as well as benefits for hair growth and skin care. A daily dose of flax can make hair shiny, healthy and vibrant, which is why we use them in our treats.
Ginger is a flower plant where the root is very beneficial for digestive health assisting in reducing nausea and loss of appetite, and has been known to reduce muscle pain. It's a great addition to our dog treats.
Glycerin is a humectant, designed to bring moisture in and retain it. In hair products, glycerin works to draw moisture onto your hair and provides a barrier to keep the moisture locked in. It is a clear, odorless liquid produced from plant oils

Glyceryl Caprylate is an emulsifier that is mainly used to stabilize and is derived from various vegetable oils for a natural preservative. It also restores natural oils of the skin, asists in regulating the skin moisture and acts as a humidifier to the skin.
Glyceryl Stearate is formed through a reaction of glycerin with stearic acid, it is a thickening agent that is composed of fats and oils. Glyceryl Stearate Citrate is a fatty acid used as an emulsifier and thickening agent. It is formed through a reaction of glycerin with stearic acid and is derived from vegetable oil. If acts as a skin conditioning and moisturizing agent as well.
Honey is a sweet food substance produced by bees and is considered a superfood. Bees produce honey from the sugary secretions of plants or other insects through regurgitation, enzymatic activity, and water evaporation. Honey can help with allergy relief, healing skin conditions, and boosting energy. It is also rich in nutrients and antioxidant and antibacterial properties.
Honeysuckle & Japenese Honey Suckle
Honeysuckle is a flowering plant with antibacterial properties and is sometimes applied to the skin for inflammation and itching. It is also know to relieve sunburn or minor burns.
Horsetail (Equisetum Arvense Extract)
Horsetail is a perennial plant and an herbal remedy that dates back to ancient Rome.. It was used traditionally to stop bleeding, heal ulcers and wounds, and treat tuberculosis and kidney problems. The name is derived from the Latin roots equus, meaning "horse," and seta, meaning "bristle. Horsetail is a strong astringent, making it effective in the treatment for external wounds.
Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein
Hydrolyzed wheat proteins repair damaged dry hair, add shine and manageability, as well as promote thickening of thinning hair. Hydrolyzed wheat protein is an amber colored liquid derived from wheat germ.

Nettles support the immune, respiratory, urinary and reproductive systems, and can help the body fight allergic responses. Additionally, nettles will strengthen hoof and coat health promoting dapples in the horse's hair coat.

Organic alcohols are emollients and they are known to soften your skin and hair. They also provide slip to our favorite conditioners which allows us to detangle our hair better. Another function this fatty alcohol is to perform in shampoos and conditioners is as thickeners and as nonionic surfactants and emulsion stabilizers.

It is an organic chemical compound , a glycol ether often used in skin care products. It is a colorless oily liquid and is mildly soluble in water. It does not release formaldehyde. It is a weak biocide, most active against Gram-negative bacteria. It is typically used at 0.1%.
Potassium Sorbate is a mild and natural preservative used as a paraben alternative in the cosmetic industry. It is developed from Sorbic Acid, which is derived from the berries of the Mountain Ash Tree, and is considered non-toxic, non-irritating, and non-sensitizing.
Provitamin B5 is classified as a water soluble vitamin and part of the B group vitamins and derives from grain species. Rice Bran is the nutrient rich outer layer that surround the grain of rice. Rich in essential fatty acids and a great source of anti-oxidents as well as a source of fiber and vitamin E and B. Rice bran is a super ingredient for our horse treats.

Rosemary Essential Oil
Rosemary essential oil is a steam-distilled oil extracted from the flowering plant. It has antimicrobial and antiseptic qualities that make it beneficial for relief from eczema, dermatitis, oily skin, and acne. Rosemary stimulates the skin and is good for circulation.
