We have blended together herbs that offer benefits to the skin and hair for horses. We are offering 2 different variations that can fit the needs of horse owners. The ingredient that stands out and is the difference between the two variations is the paprika, which is known to help prevent fading in hair coats. Paprika is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It is a naturally occurring source of copper. Copper is an essential trace mineral that plays a vital role in many processes within your horse’s body. Coat color is determined by the presence and proportion of melanin pigments. As it turns out, the enzyme responsible for melanin production—tyrosinase—is copper-dependent. Paprika is also a natural source of capsaicin, which can be used for pain relief and/or an irritant in certain volumes. If you show and your venue is testing, it’s best to avoid this variation or discontinue the Black coat a few weeks prior to showing.
