Wild cherry bark comes from a native North American tree in the Rosaceae family and is related to roses, peaches, apples, and hawthorn. The inner bark is harvested late summer through fall and dried for immediate use. This cut and sifted herb delivers a distinctive almond-like aroma and bitter, aromatic flavor that works beautifully in teas and syrups.
Prepare as a cold infusion by steeping in cold water for 4–6 hours to unlock its full potential. A concentrated tea can also serve as a topical poultice. Traditionally valued for respiratory comfort, sore throat relief, and healthy mucous function.

Wild cherry is a medium- to large-sized tree (can grow up to 100 feet tall!) that is native to Eastern and Central North America. It is in the Rosaceae family — the same family as roses, peaches, apples and hawthorn.
The inner bark of the branches is harvested in the late summer to fall, and dried immediately for use as a tea or syrup.
Tea can aid as a cough suppressant, sore throat and mucous management.
The bark has a faint almond-like aroma when placed in water, and a bitter, aromatic flavor. It makes a delicious syrup.
A strong tea made with the bark can also be used as a topical poultice.
Unlike most herbs, cherry bark is best prepared as a cold infusion, where it is allowed to steep in cold water for at least 4 to 6 hours.

Directions
To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1 tsp. of herb. Cover and steep for 3-5 minutes, strain and serve immediately.
