What does the BEMER device do?
BEMER is a device that sends PEMF (Pulse Electro Magnetic Field) waves into the body. PEMF is a long time approved and trusted form of therapy for a wide range of things, however, the BEMER patented signal is light years ahead of anything else on the market. For instance, PEMF is maximum 300 simulations per second, whereas BEMER is 1,200 simulations per second. There is nothing on the market or available today that can increase circulation like BEMER. Some of you remember last March of 2022 when one of our weanling fillies was badly injured… she didn’t come up for morning chores and we found her down in the back pasture with the rope electric fence (supposed to break with 200 pounds of pressure) around her back legs, and wrapped twice tight around her left back leg. She was near gone with hypothermia and the circulation severely restricted on her back leg. Derrick quickly cut the fence from her leg and we worked to get her up. She stood and went down again, stood and down again. We got her into Derrick’s heated shop, called the vet, administered bute and banamine and I spent the day with her in the shop. As the circulation started back in her legs, she was very uncomfortable. We made it through and she seemed to overcome this trauma and was walking on her leg, but not normal. We took her to Leading Edge Vets where Dr. Abby took x-rays. Everything looked good structurally… but maybe some tendon or nerve damage.
In a short time due to lack of blood flow and stress the left foot suffered with laminitis. Rick Dvorak is our farrier, and has been so great in helping us get through this. He trimmed her to find blood and separation of the hoof wall and put the hoof tester to her laminitic hoof and there was no response. She couldn’t feel it… In addition, we could clearly see she didn’t have feeling in her foot and ankle by the way she placed her foot. Dr. Metcalf examined her and did some poking around and sure enough, she couldn’t feel him poking her coronet band and ankle. Lack of circulation and nerve damage.
Lailah’s foot got worse. . . she started toe walking, the heal contracted and got thick, the foot was turning to a club foot and starting to buckle over forward. Rick put a shoe on with a toe clip he left extended in hopes of helping her place the foot better and not have the toe wear down into the laminae. It kept her from losing her foot as she walked but she was getting atrophy in that rear leg and hip and how would this present as she grew into an adult mare? Both the vets and the farrier didn’t feel like this was going to end well, but we would see how things go. I reached out to Dr. Alford, who did Raphael’s surgery, in hopes that we could maybe do a surgery to fix this. He said I could bring her down to Turtle Valley Equine and he would access her and see what we could do… he didn’t seem hopeful that there was anything he could do . . .
Then something so incredible and unexpected happened . . . Derrick and I were traveling back from delivering foals, getting caught in a snow storm having to stay over and while passing time, I was researching anything that could help Lailah. I was talking to Derrick about PEMF therapy and he reminded me of the BEMER that Bob Bauer, a very nice fella he worked for told him about. I looked it up, called Bob, and before you know it, we decided to buy a BEMER Horse Set, in an effort to safe Lailah’s foot and ultimately her life.
We started the BEMER therapy on Lailah right away and from the first session, amazing changes were happening! By day 3, she was placing her foot on the ground!! She was showing signs that circulation was improving and she had feeling coming back in her foot. She could feel me poking it! She started walking and traveling more normally. I recall tears rolling down my cheeks as I would place the blanket and leg wraps on feeling like this is a miracle . . . and truly it is. The BEMER stimulated better circulation to promote healing of nerves and tissue. We continue to use the BEMER Horse Set on Lailah and have put it on other horses too. We love that we have it for the whole herd for many different things such as on our mares after foaling, during breeding & the stallions to enhance semen quality. Circulation is the “River of Life” ~ I am forever thankful for this amazing transformation and recovery that continues with Lailah.
